LOGAN MURDER - West Virginia State Police said a man has been arrested on a murder charge after a shooting in Logan County.

Layton Seth Cline, 46, of Baisden has been arrested after a shooting in Rossmore, State Police Capt. Dave Nelson said.

Cline is accused of shooting and killing Harry Joseph Simpkins, 42, of Switzer. An incident report said the shooting happened about 4 p.m. Friday in Shawnee Circle.

Maj. Reggie Patterson, spokesman for the State Police, said the shooting was domestic related.

The shooting is separate from a second shooting that occurred Friday night in Logan County that is being investigated by the Logan County Sheriff's Office.

Cline is currently being held in Southwestern Regional Jail.

ATTEMPTED MURDER - The Logan County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man who is wanted after a shooting in the Cow Creek area Friday night.

Demetrius Levon Thomas, 30, of Columbus is wanted for attempted murder, according to a news release from the Logan County Sheriff's Office.

Thomas is accused of shooting Dennis Jacob Idyle II, 22, at about 7:30 p.m. Friday night in the Cow Creek area of Logan County.

Idyle was shot once in the upper chest with what deputies believe may have been a 9mm handgun, according to the news release.

When deputies arrived, they found Idyle lying on the floor unresponsive with a faint pulse. He was airlifted to Cabell Huntington Hospital.

During the investigation, deputies learned that Thomas and a 17 year old were involved in an altercation on the porch of the residence where the shooting took place.

The juvenile ran into the house to avoid confrontation and told Idyle about the incident, according to the news release. The release said Idyle confronted Thomas and theY got into a physical fight before Idyle went back into the home. The release said Thomas followed him into the home, pointing a gun at Idyle and the juvenile.

Idyle tried disarming Thomas when Thomas fired a single shot into Idyle's chest, according to the release.

Thomas was seen leaving the scene in a 2013 blue ford F-150 truck with Ohio registration HEF6282. The truck has damage to the passenger-side mirror.

Thomas is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds. He is considered to be armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees Thomas or has information on his whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the Logan County Sheriff's Office.
