SUSPICIOUS FIRE STRIKES ALTIZER RD. RIVER CABIN - Responders Answer Two Crash Calls |

A fire during morning rain did damage to a West Fork of the Little Kanawha River cabin Friday morning on Altizer Road, about three miles from Arnoldsburg. Firemen indicated the fire was of a suspicious nature, and the WV Fire Marshal is investigating, in addition to Sheriff Jeff Starcher. 911 dispatched the Arnoldsburg, Grantsville and Upper West Fork VFDs at 7:15 a.m. Responders went to Rt. 16/Hunt Road near the Clay line at 12:20 p.m. to a single car accident with no injuries reported. The Upper West Fork VFD and Calhoun EMS responded, with Sheriff Jeff Starcher investigating. The driver of a truck that lost control and crashed into a ditchline received some injuries Friday evening. The patient was taken to a Charleston Hospital with a head injury. The accident happened on State Rt. 16 near Walker Road, the Chloe area. Calhoun EMS, the Upper West Fork VFD and the State Police responded. |
