LAW ENFORCEMENT BUSY WITH MULTIPLE CHARGES

Calhoun authorities have arrested Leon Devalle McDonald, 59, and incarcerated him in Central Regional Jail for trespassing and tampering with a vehicle. Bond is set at $800.

Jerry McDaniel Duncan, 51, was charged with domestic assault and a person prohibited with a firearm. He is in Central Regional Jail.

The Calhoun Sheriffs Department, according to a criminal complaint, investigated a complaint from Dale Levering and Nancy Sawyer at Russett, while having breakfast said they heard a sound, observing Danny Burrows standing over Levering's mail box with a shovel, knocking it off the post, then speeding away in a car. Burrows was charged with misdemeanor destruction of property.

A complaint was heard from Victoria McVaney on Honeysuckle Lane saying that Brian Keith Burrows, 37, of Mt. Zion, took, stole or carried away her car registered to her husband, Patrick Duncil, the auto contained her cellphone and laptop. Burrows was charged with grand larceny, according to the complaint issued by Sheriff Jeff Starcher.

The Calhoun Sheriffs Department responded to the Collins residence south of Grantsville, Rt. 16, involving a motor vehicle crash onto the property, the vehicle fled the scene.

Austin Lee Bailey, 21, of Country Lanes, according to the complaint, demolished a fence and damaged a yard. Bailey was identified to the Sheriffs Department. Damage was $3,272 according to insurance company.

He was charged with a felony count of destruction to property.

In two other arrests, related to providing a prisoner with prohibited merchandise, Jerry "Peck" Jones, 68, of Big Springs Road and Mark P. Johnson, 57, of Big Bend, were charged by Sheriff Jeff Starcher. They were charged with issuing nicotine to inmates at a hearing, caught on video surveillance.

Authorities charged Lora Mae Griffin, 35, with possession of a controlled substance and George Parsons, 31, was charged with a probation violation.
