NWS ISSUES FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR CALHOUN AND REGIONAL COUNTIES

A WARNING MEANS IMMINENT THREAT

2 AM 5/23 - Radar indicates severe flooding is occurring to the south of Calhoun and Roane. The NWS has issued Flash Flood Warning for Calhoun, Braxton; Calhoun; Gilmer; Ritchie; Roane; Wirt; Wood through 3:15 a.m. Wednesday.

AREAS MOST LIKELY AFFECTED

Calhoun County in north central West Virginia... Southern Ritchie County in northwestern West Virginia... Gilmer County in north central West Virginia... Northern Braxton County in north central West Virginia... Wirt County in northwestern West Virginia... Northeastern Roane County in central West Virginia... Southeastern Wood County in northwestern West Virginia.

Some locations that will experience flooding include Glenville, Elizabeth, Grantsville, Arnoldsburg, Cedar Creek State Park, Burnsville, Sand Fork, Shock, Millstone, Cherry, Smithville, Rosedale, Mount Zion, Newberne, Lucille, Big Springs, Berea, Brohard, Stumptown and Tanner.
