A Ritchie County man was arrested Monday after deputies found methamphetamine and fentanyl.

Joseph Lott allegedly threw a bag containing methamphetamine, fentanyl and marijuana into the woods when deputies attempted to speak with him, according to the Ritchie County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies found a belt pouch in the woods, which Lott threw, containing a bag of marijuana, six bags of methamphetamine, and a bag of fentanyl. Lott also had $217 in his possession, deputies said.

Lott was not compliant with deputies' requests, according to court documents, and attempted to resist arrest.

Lott is charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession of fentanyl.
