WIC NUTRITION PROGRAM

The Women, Infants, and Children [WIC] Nutrition Program is a supplemental foods program for pregnant, post-partum, or breastfeeding women, infants, and children up to the age of five. WIC provides food, breastfeeding support and nutrition education to families in Calhoun County. To apply for the WIC Program or to receive more information call the local office at 304-354-6898 or the main office in Parkersburg at 304-428-3688. WIC Clinic is at 186 Hospital Drive Building 2, Suite 3, Grantsville each Wednesday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

FRIDAY NIGHT MUSIC - Every Friday at the Big Otter Community Center. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. Music begins at 7:00 p.m. and continues until 10:00 p.m. Bandoleros will perform Friday, August 23rd. Come have a hillbilly hotdog with chili and cole slaw some homemade dessert and visit with your neighbors before being entertained with Ole Country, Bluegrass and sometimes a little Rock and Roll. Put on your dancin shoes and dance the night away. Bring the family for a evening of fun.

SATURDAY AUGUST 24

COMMUNITY OX ROAST - Mt. Zion Community Park

RICHARDS FAMILY REUNION - The descendants of Wesley and Barbara Richards family reunion will be held at the Calhoun County Park barn on August 24th. at 12 noon. Bring a covered dish, come and enjoy the day with family and friends.

CCHS CLASS OF 1994 25TH REUNION - Calhoun County High School Class of 1994 will hold their 25th Class Reunion, at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 24th at Wayne Underwood Field in Grantsville. For more information contact Jennifer Sarratori 304-655-8916.

HORSE SHOW - The Central WV Riding Club will hold its regular monthly horse show on Saturday, August 24 at Holly Gray Park in Sutton WV. The show will begin at 5:00 p.m. Everyone come and enjoy the evening.

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 7

BINGO - The Camp Barbe Association will be holding bingo on Saturday, September 7th at Camp Barbe in Elizabeth, WV. Doors will open at 5 pm, Bingo starts at 6 pm. Concessions will be available. Prizes will vary from filled 31 bags to themed baskets such as a "Mountaineer Fan" basket. Proceeds will go to the Camp Barbe Association to help with maintenance and upkeep of Camp Barbe. Early bird tickets are $20 and available for purchase at the Wirt County Extension Office or Elizabeth Town Hall. You can also contact a Camp Barbe Association member.
