NO NEW CANDIDATES FILE FOR PUBLIC OFFICE - Helmick Files For Commission, Kirby Files For School Board Seat

UPDATE 1-12-2018 - Calhoun Clerk Jean Simers reported Friday evening that no further candidates had filed for public office since Monday, when commissioner Kevin Helmick filed again for county commissioner and Richard Kirby filed for Board of Education.

1/8/2018 - Calhoun Commissioner Kevin Helmick of Nicut filed Monday for re-election to his seat. Helmick was selected at Monday's meeting as President of the commission for 2018.

He has long been associated with Helmick Brothers, a family business and was a 1998 graduate of Calhoun High. He obtained a BS degree from Glenville State College in Business Management and Administration.

Also filing Monday was Richard Kirby of Lemuels Run, longtime former Calhoun Clerk, for a seat on the Calhoun Board of Education.

Kirby has long been involved in Calhoun civic affairs and was a longtime leader of the Boy Scouts of America.
