CALHOUN'S MEDAL OF HONOR RECIPIENT REMEMBERED - Bernard Pius Bell Had Humble Roots

Bernard Pius Bell is Calhoun's only soldier to be awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor, one of few in West Virginia. Bell grew up at Henrietta, a short distance from Grantsville along State Route 5. The Grantsville bridge has been named in his honor and a plaque was mounted with his history at the Army Reserve Center at Big Bend.
