Shade E. Anderson, 94, of White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., died Friday, Dec. 5, 2003, in Greenbrier Valley Medical Center at Fairlea, W.Va.
Mr. Anderson was born in Calhoun County, W.Va., and was a son of the late Elza and Arminda Anderson.
He retired from B.F. Goodrich in Akron, Ohio. He was a member of the Greenbrier Valley Baptist Church on Route 92 N., White Sulphur Springs, where he served as the song leader for many years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Imogene Ellis Anderson in 1980. Also preceding him in death were two brothers, Vance and William Anderson.
Surviving are one brother, Paul Anderson of Dexter, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Erma Kiplinger of Barberton, Ohio, and Mrs. Hettie Wallace of Akron, Ohio. He had numerous nieces and nephews. He had a host of friends, including a special friend, Charlotte Kincaid of White Sulphur Springs. Once you had talked to him you felt like he had been a friend for a long time.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Greenbrier Valley Baptist Church, Rt. 92, White Sulphur Springs with the Rev. Lloyd Camp officiating.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Eventide Cemetery at Spencer, W.Va., with the Rev. John Smith officiating.
The family will receive their friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening at the Shanklin Funeral Home, White Sulphur Springs.
