CALHOUN'S "STATE OF EMERGENCY" STATUS EXTENDED

Governor Bob Wise has extended a state of emergency declaration through February 18th for 29 counties stricken by last month's storms.

Calhoun is one of the 29 counties.

The storms dumped up to 4 inches of rain, caused severe flooding and were blamed for two deaths.

Wise says the state must do everything it can to help the flood victims.

Other counties included in the state of emergency declaration include Boone, Cabell, Clay, Fayette, Gilmer, Greenbrier, Harrison, Jackson, Kanawha, Lincoln, Logan, Marion, Mason, McDowell, Mercer, Mingo, Monongalia, Monroe, Nicholas, Pocahontas, Putnam, Raleigh, Roane, Summers, Wayne, Webster, Wirt and Wyoming counties.
