The buck kill was down, according to most of the checking stations in the county.
Rick's Place checked in 51 bucks yesterday and about 150 last year on the first
day. "It is way down here," he said.
Rick's said two large bucks were checked at Minnora, 10-points to George
Hickman and Wes Nichols, both of Orma.
One of the biggest racks on opening day apparently goes to 12-year-old Brittney
Dawson of Little Creek. The 11-point deer was checked at Holbert's Store in Big
Bend.
Another 11-pointer was checked at Speedy Mart in Arnoldsburg, and John Paul
Gumm of Glenville checked a 9-pointer at ChaTis in Grantsville.
Parson's One Stop, who said the buck kill was down, reported two 10-pointers and
eight 8-pointers.
