MATH HONOR SOCIETY HAS NEW MEMBERS

Calhoun High School has some new members in Mu Alpha Theta.

Mu Alpha Theta is a National Mathematics Honor Society encompassing over 55,000 students in more than 1,300 schools.

Dedicated to inspiring keen interest in mathematics, developing strong scholarship in the subject, and promoting the enjoyment of mathematics in high school and two-year college students.

To be eligible for membership in Mu Alpha Theta you must have completed at least three college preparatory math courses such as Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Pre-calculus, Trigonometry/Probability & Statistics or Calculus). Algebra I taken in 8th grade will count toward eligibility.

Another requirement is to have at least a "B" average for all math courses take.

Students who are inducted into Mu Alpha Theta are urged to continue taking advanced math and science courses until graduation.

Mu Alpha Theta Members are James H. Williams, Holly Burch, Danielle Goodrich, Zach Houchin, Marcus Davis, Tiffany Hall, Chelsie Hupp, Barbara Shock, Amber Goodrich, Melissa Hartshorn, Kelley Sampson, Ryan Bremar, Victoria Lamont, Mellisa Richard, Debby White, Amber Williams, Craig Arthur and Eli Walker.
