Gordon R. Haverty, 47, of Spencer, WV, died Friday March 30, 2001, at
his home, after a short
illness.
He was an employee of the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, a member of
Spencer Tabernacle, a
retired employee of the City of Spencer, a former Spencer City
Policeman, and a former Roane
County Deputy Sheriff. He was a 1973 graduate of Spencer High School,
a member and former
vice-president of the Roane County High School Band Boosters.
Mr. Haverty is survived by his wife, Debra Haverty and his daughter,
Elizabeth M. Haverty at
home, sisters, Linda Graves and Elizabeth Mullen both of Uniontown,
Ohio, Judy Perkins of
Spencer and Angie Burdette of Shipshewana, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Camden R. Haverty and June L.
Webb Haverty
Davis.
Services will be conducted Monday, April 2 at 11:00 a.m. in the John
H. Taylor Funeral Home,
Spencer, with Rev. Garry L. Bowen officiating. Robert J. (Bob) Weaver
will deliver the eulogy.
Burial will be in the Clover Cemetery, Clover. Friends may call at the
funeral home from 2-4 and
6-8 p.m. on Sunday.
