HEADLINES: Calhoun Schools Closed Friday, Water Crests On Little Kanawha, House Burns Surrounded By Water, Arnoldsburg School Damaged, Clean-Up Begins

Stories Coming In The Hur Herald:

* Calhoun Schools will remain closed for the third day because of problems linked to flooding. Next week is Thanksgiving holiday week, no school scheduled.

* Water crested at 39.5 feet in Grantsville about 6 a.m. Wednesday morning, with flood state at 36 feet. The usual and customary locations were flooded.

* Water did extensive damage to Arnoldsburg Elementary School. About nine inches of water got into the building, although markers indicated the water was one and one-half feet high around the structure. Extensive clean-up operations began this morning.

* Fire destroyed a residence surrounded by water at the mouth of Annamoriah Creek at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The residence was occupied by George Duskey, his wife and two children, who escaped without injury.

* Instructions forthcoming regarding the reporting of what do do about flood damage.

* Arnoldsburg residences and businesses begin clean-up.
