Mabel P. Mathers, 79, of Middlebourne died Friday, Nov. 7, 2003, in Sistersville Center, Sistersville.
She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Harvey and Ola Richards Cunningham. She was a former employee of the Magnolia Manor Nursing Home, serving as activities director. She was a member of Valley Grange 519, Alma, W.Va. She was a member of the Middlebourne Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Herman D. Mathers; a son, Rodney H. Mathers of Marietta; a daughter, Connie Knight of Paden City, W.Va.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Karen Delores Postlewait; three brothers; two sisters; and a grandson, James R. Mathers.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Furbee Funeral Home, Middlebourne, with the Rev. Earl Fletcher officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Alma. Friends will be received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
