A well-known former Grantsville woman will be buried Sunday.
Cora Mae Fluharty, 78, of Lake Panasoffkee, wife of former Grantsville VFD Fire
Chief and community worker Chester Fluharty, died Nov. 3, 2003 at her home.
She was a former U.S. Navy nurse and had served as a bookkeeper in the oil and
gas industry for Walter E. Smith, the late P.P. Gunn and Holly Nester. She was
retired from the U.S. Postal Service, Grantsville.
She was a former member of the Knotts Memorial United Methodist Church in
Grantsville and was a current member of the Lake Panasoffkee United Methodist
Church. She was also a member of the DAV in Lake Panasoffkee.
She is survived by a son, Tom Fluharty, and his wife, Barbara, of Creston.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Stump Funeral Home in Grantsville, with
the Rev. Kenneth Heiney officiating. Interment will be in the Fluharty Cemetery at
Big Springs. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
