Cora Mae Fluharty, 78, of Lake Panasoffkkee, Florida formerly of Grantsville, West Virginia,
passed away November 3, 2003 at her home.
Born in Ritchie County, WV, she was a daughter of the late Emery Guy and Dessie H. Goff
Valentine. She was a former US Navy nurse and had served as bookkeeper in the oil and
gas industry for Walter E. Smith and the late P.P. Gunn and Holly Nester. She was retired
from the US Postal Service, Grantsville. She was a former member of the Knotts Memorial
United Methodist Church in Grantsville and was a current member of the Lake Panasoffkkee
United Methodist Church . She was also a member of the D.A.V. in Lake Panasoffkkee.
Surviving are her husband, Chester Fluharty and a son, Tom Fluharty and his wife, Barbara
of Creston, WV; a sister, Juna Cutlip of Parkersburg, WV; one granddaughter, Dena Roberts
and her husband, Randy of Parkersburg; two grandsons, Dylan and Haden Roberts.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 9 at 2 p.m. at Stump Funeral Home,
Grantsville. Rev. Kenneth Heiney will officiate. Interment will be in the Fluharty Cemetery at
Big Springs. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday.
