Federal prosecutors have advised Wal-Mart, America's largest retailer and West Virginia's largest employer, they are the target of a grand jury probe.
Federal agents arrested about 250 workers in a 21-state sweep at Wal-Mart stores last month. Four workers at a Parkersburg Wal-Mart were among those arrested.
Investigators say the workers are illegal aliens, and Wal-Mart officials were aware of the immigration law violations.
The illegal aliens came from 18 different countries. The sting says it is likely hundreds of more "illegals" have been part of Wal-Mart's store cleaning operation.
Initially, Wal-Mart responded by saying they were not responsible for the illegals, because they worked for a contract company.
