The Calhoun County Adult Education program meets Mondays and Tuesdays at the
Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center, 2:00-9:00 p.m.
The program is free and open to anyone needing
help preparing for the GED (General Equivalency Diploma) exam or just brushing up
on basic
skills such as reading, writing, and math.
Registration for the class is held on the first
Monday of each month, only new students are to attend on that day. The
registration process
involves filling out registration forms and taking an assessment test to determine
the
student's beginning levels of ability.

GED exams are given once per month at the Career Center. The tests are given
over a
period of two days, beginning at 9:30 a.m. and ending around 2:30 p.m. The testing
fee is
$50, due on the first day of testing.
People wishing to take the exam should contact David
White at the Career Center, 354-6151, at least one week in advance of the testing
date.
