SEARCH FOR SUBMERGED AUTO WILL RESUME - Jason Rider Released From Hospital, McCormick Funeral Sunday

Efforts to recover a submerged auto from the Little Kanawha River at Grantsville are expected to resume this weekend, according to the Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department.

The river stage has been above normal and the stream has been running swiftly, causing some degree of hazard.

Grantsville resident Dustin McCormick, 22, lost is life when his vehicle plunged into the river Tuesday night.

A passenger in the car, Jason Rider, 26, has been released from Charleston Area Medical Center.

Funeral services for Dustin McCormick are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday at Stump Funeral Home in Grantsville. (Obituary will follow)
