Two West Virginia soldiers are recuperating from injuries received in Iraq.
French Creek native Shawn Paul Monroe, a military police officer, had to have both of his legs amputated after a rocket
attack on an Iraqi hotel. One person was killed and 18 injured in the explosion.
A Grafton military police officer is also recovering from wounds received in an attack.
James Moore of the 363rd Military Police Detachment was wounded October 20th when an explosion struck his
Humvee.
Shrapnel hits damaged his shoulder, severely damaged his right leg and severed his Achilles tendon, in addition to multiple
other injuries.
The attack occurred on Moore's detachment as they escorted a convoy north of Baghdad.
