Wal-Mart Stores have announced they will examine all of its employees and
instantly fire workers found to be in the country illegally.
The announcement came after federal officers arrested 245 employees at stores in
21 states, including West Virginia. Four illegal aliens were arrested at a
Parkersburg Store.
Wal-Mart initially defended their operation relying on contract workers, saying they
were unaware of illegal aliens, but
investigators say they gathered recordings from wiretaps that indicate Wal-Mart
executives knew the company's subcontractors used illegal workers.
Those arrested last week came from 18 different nations, including 90 from
Mexico, 35 from the Czech Republic, 22 from Mongolia and 20 from Brazil.
