Plans by Spencer Veneer to expand its operations at the Roane Industrial Park have received a boost from state government. The West Virginia Economic Development Authority granted preliminary approval last week for funding that will allow Spencer Veneer to purchase the former Goodrich Corp. building in the industrial park.
Spencer Veneer will assume the existing $421,320 WVEDA loan to Goodrich for the 110,000 square-foot building. Spencer Veneer currently employs 123 people at its plant in the former NI Industries building. Expansion into the Goodrich building is projected to create a total of 70 new jobs during the next three years.....
