Alcan Incorporated is poised to take over French-based Pechiney for nearly five billion dollars, creating one of the world's
largest aluminum companies.
A hitch in the proposed agreement - Alcan must find a buyer for the Ravenswood plant.
Numerous regional residents work at the Ravenswood plant, which once employed several thousand people when it was
