(10/04/2003)

Four Wirt County residents were sent to the hospital after a Chevy Tracker spun out of control and rolled over in a sharp curve on rain slick Rt. 5 at the intersection of Carroll Road last night.

At least one of the occupants was complaining of neck and back pain. Calhoun EMS dispatched four ambulances to the scene shortly after 10 p.m. The occupants of the Tracker, which had a canvass top, were reportedly returning to Wirt County, traveling west, following the football game at Calhoun Middle/High School.

The vehicle received rear end damage and damage to the driver's side of the SUV.

Reports from the scene indicated none were seriously injured. Names of the injured were not released.

The Grantsville VFD responded to the scene.

Traffic was backed for a considerable distance following the accident.
