The Upper West Fork Octoberfest is today at the Upper West Fork Community Park.

Octoberfest is an old-world celebration of harvest time, including the making of apple butter over a wood fire throughout the day. Fresh apple butter will be on sale for $3.50 a pint and $6 a quart.

"Come out and spend the day, let the kids play on the new playground equipment and help support the Upper West Fork Community Park," said Michele Sears.

The Octoberfest Parade on Route 16 (line-up at Minnora starts at 12:30 p.m.) starts at 1 p.m. Saturday, going south toward Chloe and the park.

This years Parade Marshall is Edna Zwoll, with the Senior King and Queen to be announced.

There will be a Kiddie Corner with games and prizes for the children, in addition to a sack race and a three-legged race.

Music will be provide by several local bands, with horses, pretty baby contest, twirlers and other parade entries.
