Ernest Eugene "Ernie" Kemmner, 75, of Blennerhassett Heights, Parkersburg passed away Sept. 23, 2003, at the Marietta Center.
He was born June 15, 1928, in Calhoun County, a son of the late Carl Kemmner and Hazel Whytsell Connolly.
He was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church; was retired from Walker Machinery; and was a former employee of Florence Dairy and Woodyard Motor Freight Co. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of the VFW.
Surviving is his wife, Edna Belle Woodyard Kemmner; his daughter, Pamela Sue Kerby and her husband, Warren E. Kerby II, of Parkersburg; his granddaughter, Tanya Dawn Kerby, whom he loved very much; one sister, Mary Ann Cunningham of Parkersburg; a half brother, Roy Edmund Connolly Jr. of Davisville; two half sisters, Janet Lamp of Waverly and Wilda Mae Davis of Sanford, Fla.; his stepfather, Roy Edmund Connolly Sr. of Davisville; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Larry and Sharon Arthur of Elizabeth.
He was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Lonnie Lamp and Ray Eugene Cunningham.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at The Kimes Funeral Home, 521 5th St., Parkersburg, with Pastor Jerry Caplinger and Pastor Dave Cumpston officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery with military rites conducted by the American Legion Post 15 of Parkersburg. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
