During August, businesses and individuals throughout Calhoun County, working
with the Calhoun County Extension Office, raised $275.00, through donations made
to the 4-H Clover Campaign.
Individuals, who made a $1.00 donation to the Campaign, received a 4-H Clover
Card to keep or have displayed at the business where they made their donation.
Individuals and businesses throughout the County participated in the
Campaign.
Fifty per cent of the money raised by the Campaign will remain in Calhoun County
and be deposited in the County Camp Fund. The remaining fifty percent will be
sent to the WVU Centennial Fund, where it will be used to offset costs associated
with the publication of 4-H project publications.
Project publications are made available free-of-charge to all 4-H club members
throughout the state, including Calhoun County.
The Calhoun County Extension Office would like to thank all 250 individuals who
donated a $1.00 toward the Campaign. In addition, a special thanks to Cha-Tia's,
Chloe Auto & Hardware, Foodland, Giars Grocery, Holberts, Koffee Cup, Parsons
One Stop, Pit Stop, Rick's Place, Speedy Mart, "Y" Restaurant and Glenna Flemming
for participating and displaying the Clover Cards during the month long
Campaign.
October 5-11 is National 4-H Week, with window displays in local businesses, a
display in the foyer of the
courthouse and the hanging of a banner from the courthouse.
