Franklin R. Miller, 70, of Spencer, WV, died Tuesday, September 16, 2003, at Eldercare of Ripley after a long illness of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease.
He was born in Spencer, Roane County, on September 12, 1933, to the late Theodore Johnson and Elsie Casto Miller. He served four years in the United States Air Force. He worked 23 years at Kellwood Company and retired from Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home after 17 years. He was a member of the Spencer Church of the Nazarene where he served on the church board as a trustee for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Oeta Truman Miller; one son and daughter-in-law, Gregory K. and Debby Miller of East Lynn, WV; three grandsons, Daryl Kevin, Elliott Ray, and Gregory Seth Miller of Linden; three step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren; one sister, Betty Dolan of Ripley; two brothers, Jack Miller of Spencer and Bill Miller of Parkersburg; mother-in-law, Oma Truman of Left Hand; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Garnet Jones and Dorothy West; a twin brother, Johnny Miller; five half sisters and three half brothers.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, September 18, at 11:00 a.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Tim Bess officiating. Burial will be in the Spencer Memorial Cemetery, Spencer, WV. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
