A man identified as Shawn Rush was injured on a 4-wheeler Sunday evening at 4
p.m. on Beech Road. Charleston Area Medical Center said Rush was still under
evaluation at midnight, suffering from multiple injuries.
The hospital said they would issue a status report on Rush sometime Monday.
Calhoun EMS and the Arnoldsburg VFD responded to the accident about four miles
down Beech Road. The injured man was taken to Roane General Hospital by
private vehicle, where he was transferred to Charleston Area Medical Center, likely
by chopper.
Calhoun EMS and the Grantsville VFD answered a call at 5 a.m. Saturday to a truck
accident near Parson's One-Stop on Pleasant Hill, south of Grantsville on State
Route 16. None of the occupants were taken to the hospital, after the truck
plunged over the hill.
A car and truck collided at the foot of Big Springs Hill Friday afternoon at 1 p.m.
Calhoun EMS and the Grantsville VFD responded, but no one was taken to the
hospital.
At least one person was injured in a roll-over accident on Walker Road Friday
evening at 5:10 p.m. A male driver or occupant of the wrecked vehicle was taken
to Braxton County Hospital by Calhoun EMS. Other occupants of the auto
reportedly left the scene, but were located by Deputy Sheriff Ron Bandy. The Upper
West Fork VFD responded to the call.
Friday was a busy day with three emergency calls within several minutes.
