The West Virginia State police have confirmed that Grantsville and Spencer
Detachment officers participated in an eradication of a marijuana growing patch in
the Norman Ridge area of Calhoun on September 3rd.
Public Affairs officer Sgt. Jay Powers said the State Police eradicated
approximately 600 plants.
"The plants were spotted from the air and eradicated by members on the ground,"
said Powers. "At this time, no arrests have been made in connection with the
incident."
The patch was reportedly located on the former Mead-Westvaco lands.
