A national committee on rural health care and services came to Calhoun Monday,
visiting Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center and the Calhoun County Committee on
Aging.
Minnie Hamilton CEO Barb Lay learned the local center is to be recognized by the
State of West Virginia for the multi-level services it delivers to a rural area.
Lay said she was delighted the committee came to Calhoun.
It was the first visit in 12 years to West Virginia by the the National Advisory
Committee on Rural Health and Human Services.
The committee said they were impressed with the multitude of services offered to
the public in the county by the two agencies.
The committee will report back to the Secretary of the Department of Health and
Human Services, regarding problems and solutions.
