Jessica Lynch has a one million-dollar book deal with a leading publisher.
She is expected to tell the story of her capture and rescue in Iraq, even though
questions remain over how much she remembers.
Publisher Alfred A. Knopf announced that the former prisoner of war will collaborate
on "I Am a Soldier, Too: The Jessica Lynch Story" with Pulitzer Prize-winning writer
Rick Bragg.
The book is scheduled for mid-November, with a first printing of around 500,000
copies.
There were stories circulating that Lynch and Bragg will split a one million-dollar
advance, with any royalties going to Lynch. Bragg has exclusive access to Lynch
and her family for book material.
Doctors at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington said it's unlikely Lynch
will remember much about her capture.
A Knopf spokesman said the state of her memory is "excellent."
