Mary Sue Mullins, 72, of Chloe, West Virginia, went home to be with the Lord, August 21st,
following a long illness.
Born at Widen, December 1, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Ora and Gertrude Lamb
Groggs. She was a member of the Walker United Methodist Church at Chloe, for over 40
years and had served as church secretary and Sunday school teacher. She was a
homemaker and had been a foster mother to several children.
Surviving are her step-mother, Vola Groggs of Buckhannon and one daughter and son in
law, Diane and Steve Sams of Big Springs; one son and daughter in law, Bill and Bev Mullins
of Chloe; four sisters, Jean Siers of Chloe, Norma Nicholas of Spencer, Loretta Gray of
Elyria, Ohio and Lotti Clouser of Akron, Ohio; five brothers, Ted Groggs of Stow, Ohio, Bud
Groggs of Medina, Ohio, Frank Groggs of St. Albans, Bill and Mike Groggs of Buckhannon;
five grandchildren, Billie and Cassie Mullins of Chloe, Kelly Peck of Grantsville, Christy
Justice of Parkersburg and John Sams of Elizabeth; two great grandchildren, Hailey and
Easton Sams; 3 step great grandchildren, Hannah, Raeyln and Rebekah Peck; several
nieces and nephews and several foster children.
She was preceded in death in addition to her parents by her husband, H.W. "Bill" Mullins; two
brothers, Bob and Paul Groggs; sister, Carolyn Jane Groggs and a foster son, Phillip
Simonds.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg. Rev.
Tim Hickman will officiate. Interment will be in the Lamb Cemetery at Chloe. Friends may call
at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.
