Virginia Harris, 28, of Mt. Zion, is in Charleston Area Medical Center following emergency surgery. A spokesperson for the New Testament Baptist Church, said Harris lost one of her legs after efforts were made to save it last night.

Andy Wessel, a spokesperson for CAMC, told The Herald at 10 a.m. today she was holding her own and under continued evaluation, indicating her condition is improving.

"Her vital signs were not good last night, and things are touch and go," according to Mrs. Bill Agee, whose husband is a church trustee. Bill Agee was helping the Harris family move yesterday when the accident happened. "Please pray for her and her family," said Mrs. Agee.

Harris was injured when three vehicles were involved in a crash yesterday on the Grantsville side of Hog Knob Hill. The accident sent five or more people to Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center, some of them children. They were reportedly not seriously injured, with most being treated and released.

Harris was struck or pinned against a large U-Haul truck by an out of control vehicle on rain slick Route 5.

She is the wife of Pastor Jeff Harris, 34, formerly of the New Testament Baptist Church at Big Springs. The Harris' recently decided to move to Canada to be near her ill parents, and had packed their belongings in U-Hauls yesterday for the journey.
