Work is expected to start soon on the Normantown-Stumptown water extension,
according to the Gilmer PSD Board of Directors.
The project has been mapped and property owners along the extension will soon
be contacted to obtain contracts.
The Drinking Water Treatment Program is funding $1,470,000 and the
Infrastructure Jobs and Development Council is funding $2,940,000.
A major multi-million dollar water extension is planned for Calhoun, which will cover
Millstone, Sand Ridge, Sassafras Ridge and Russett, in addition to Route 16 up the
West Fork to near the Clay County line.
