Pleasant Hill's Lights On and Read
program held the first session of the new year at the Calhoun
County Park, on On Thursday, July 24.
There were over 30 children along with their parents
in attendance roasting hot dogs and marshmallows, playing games,
reading books and having fun. The program is open to children
birth to 4th grade and their families, we had babies
only days old in attendance as well as older siblings.
Each child
received a new book and tote bag because it's never too early to start reading
to a child. The Light's On and Read Program
meets each month at Pleasant Hill School. Children are given a
new book, and a snack, participate in a craft activity, as well as other activities
that center around reading. Each year the Lights On
and Read program plans two field trips, plans are under way
this year for some fun and exciting trips, attendance is mandatory
in order to participate in the field trips.
