Wind and thunderstorms swept across the region last night, causing damage and
power outages in some counties.
Calhoun seemed to be spared the major problems, except most of the forty new
American flags just erected in Grantsville were blown to the ground.
Bonnie Bird of the Mayor's Office said the winds whipped the flags, some of the rods
bent and some of the holders broke.
Pat Starkey said some of the flags are missing. He requests if individuals have
found flags, to please return them to Town Hall.
Starkey was assessing the damage to the flags and holders this morning.
