The Mount Zion Public Service District did not meet water treatment requirements,
according to a press release from Wilma Mace.
"Our water system recently violated a drinking water standard," she said.
The release said customers do not have to boil water.
The problem appears to be connected to improper and timely testing during the month of May.
"However, if you have specific health concerns, consult your doctor. People with
severely compromised immune systems, infantsand some elderly may be at
increased risk," said Mace.
Mace advised the current operator resigned and a new operater has been hired and
chlorine samples are been taken daily.
She indicated the problem is being corrected.
