Ambros G. (Jerry) Collins, 67, of Grantsville, West Virginia, died June 28, 2003 at Minnie
Hamilton Health Care Center, Grantsville.
Born November 8, 1935 in Pineville, WV, he was the son of the late Winford and Hazel Marie
Weaver Collins. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Grantsville. He graduated
from Pineville High School and St. Leo University and retired from 24 years of distinguished
military service, having served 2 tours in Viet Nam. He was retired from the Defense
Investigative Services in 1999 after 10 years of service.
Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Carolyn Collins; three sons, Gerald Collins and his wife,
Anitra of Jacksonville, Florida, Gregory Collins and his wife Christine of Kennesaw, Georgia
and Jeffrey Collins of Lampoc, California; three sisters, Shelby Goodwin of Myrtle Beach,
South Carolina, Sharon Cook of Wilmington, North Carolina and Diane Smith of Vienna,
Virginia; 6 grandchildren, Matthew, Jessica, Nathan, Blaze, Natalie and Adam and several
nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 1 at 2 p.m. at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville.
Rev. Jim Skedel will officiate. Interment will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery at Grantsville.
Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service Tuesday.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church of
Grantsville.
