Lynn and Nina Whipkey Celebrate
Lynn and Nina Whipkey celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary at Chapel Baptist
Church at Nobe yesterday. Garriel Whipkey, son of the couple, with help from others, fried trays of deep-fried fish for
family and friends.
Lynn may be best known for his lifelong teaching of shaped note music. "Tone in
music is how the world talks with one another, no matter what language people
speak," he said. "It binds us together."
Garriel Whipkey and his wife, former residents of Washington state, have been
on the road touring America for the last year or two
