Thieves continue to do their work in the area, with riding mowers stolen from the
Minnora Community Center and the Town of Grantsville.
Donna Jordan said there was a breaking and entering of a storage building this past
week at the Minnora Community Center and a Farm and Fleet 20-horse power riding
lawn mower, green in color, was stolen. She said a report was filed with the
State Police.
The Calhoun Sheriff's Department is looking into a number of leads this past week
related to stolen merchandise, including the breaking and entering of the Parsons
One Stop on Pleasant Hill, according to Sheriff Allen Parsons.
Paul Parsons, an owner of the establishment, went directly to Calhoun residents for
help last week in the Hur Herald, asking them to help the Calhoun Sheriff's
Department.
Parsons One-Stop said yesterday people had been responding to their plea. They
are offering a $1000 reward for the arrest and conviction of the guilty party.
Thieves took a large amount of sporting equipment, beer and cigarettes.
"This was a big hit for us," said Parsons. "We are asking the people in
our community to please help us with this," he said. Several thousand dollars of
merchandise was taken, none of which was covered by insurance.
Reported stolen: Two BowTech bows, an antique recurve bow with single sliding pin,
two Husqvarna chainsaws, Simmons scopes, sixty cases of beer, forty cartons of
cigarettes, rub tobacco, turkey calls, snacks, fishing lures and supplies and
miscellaneous hunting equipment.
The intruders pried dead-bolts open on double doors on the side of the store, said
Parsons.
Deputy Sheriff Carl Ballengee is investigating the Parson's B & E.
