CALHOUN GETS $120,000 IN FEMA HELP - Housing And Public Project Needs

Calhoun County residents will receive $100,820 from FEMA for damages they received from the February ice, snow and flood storms. This money covers housing and other needs.

The county will also receive $19,333 in public assistance funds to repair or replace public facilities and equipment. Damage was done to the Mule Knob communications tower and equipment at Calhoun Control.

The state of West Virginia was awarded $11.4 million for 46 counties.

The U. S. Small Business Administration approved 119 home and business loans statewide in the amount of $1,232,900.

Roane County, which was also hit hard by the winter storm, received $34,626 in public assistance and %108,565 in individual assistance.

Gilmer County was awarded $2,185 in public assistance.

Wirt County was awarded $3,484 in public assistance.
