The WV Mountain Bike Racing Team Expert/Pro Riders swept the Appalachian Classic on Sunday, with Mandi Riddle and
Nick Waite winning the Championship wood bowls.
Mandi Riddle said "I just kept saying to myself during the
race - I want the bowl, I want the bowl," while Nick, a former National Junior Cross Country Champion, was evidently
under some pressure from his mom not to come home without a bowl.
Other top WV Mountain Bike Racing Team members were Flyin' Brian Fawley,1st place Men's Junior Expert; Will Clagg,
3rd place in Men's Sport 19-25, and the little guy from Calhoun, Cai Clothier, placing 3rd in Men's Junior 14 and under.
The WV Mountain Bike Racing Team, sponsored by WV Tourism, rock star Bon Jovi, Cannondale, WorldWide
Chiropractic and the Charleston Bicycle Center, will be at the NORBA National Championship Series Races at Snowshoe
from Thursday through Sunday. |
