"Dancing with my bike..."
The Classic's official rescue dog
One of the really fun activities at the Appalachian Bike Race is the Pond Jump, a
spectator event enjoyed annually by a number of local folks. Yesterday's event had
lots of slippin', slidin', spills and wows.
The event had several jumpers perform the feat, a long downhill run, flying off the
ramp into the air and tumbling into the water. It looks much easier that it is, and
often stings, stings, stings as the participants strikes the water.
Winners of yesterdays Pond Jump: Jared White of St. Albans, 1st Place; runners-up
Steve White of St. Albans and J. W. Johnson of Morgantown.
