| Emma V. Alton, 94, formerly of Parkersburg, went home to be with the Lord June 5, 2003, at the Arbors at Marietta.
She was born Feb. 20, 1909, in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Sheridan and Rozella (Saunders) Snider. She was the beloved aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was a member of the United Brethren Church.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Jerry Snider of Downington, Pa.; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; three sisters; Ruth Baum of Williamstown, Sophia Smith of Brandon, Fla., and Josephine Dean of Gould, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alonzo Alton; three brothers, Blaine Snider, Russell Snider and Lester Snider; four sisters, Nell Ferrell, Vera Jean Snider, Marie Tucker and Loretta Hosey; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg with Rev. Jon Lands officiating. Burial will follow at the Riverview Cemetery in Williamstown. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home
