Mary F. Morton, 76, of Wallback, Clay County, West Virginia, died Wednesday, May 28, 2003
in CAMC General Division, Charleston.
She was born february 27, 1927, at Valley Fork, a daughter of the late Albert H. and Icie
Hanshaw Thomas. She was a homemaker, a member of the White Pilgrim Church at valley
Fork, head of Senior Legislation, Charleston, and Volunteer Food Co-Op at Clay.
Surviving relatives include five daughters, June Bucher of Orrville, Ohio, Nancy Rogers of
Navarre, Ohio, Sharon Gorog of Sun City, Arizona, Judy Reece of East Sparta, Ohio and
Penny Weber of Perrysville, Ohio; two sons, David Rogers of Massillon, Ohio and Steve
Vandall of Killeen, Texas; 21 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; brother, Gary Thomas of
Clay County; sisters, Patsy Ross of Marshallville, Ohio and Betty Stalnaker of Valley Fork.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Allen Vandall;
son, Larry Thomas Rogers; granddaughter, Melinda Marie Ackers; brothers, Noble, Nelson,
Eugene, Garland, and Leo; and sister, Dorothy Ann Thomas.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, June 2, 2003 at 1 p.m. in the John H. Taylor
Funeral Home, Spencer, WV, with Rev. Homer Hensley officiating. Friends may call at
the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in
the Vandall Cemetery, Creston, WV. |
