| The legislative budget conferees will meet Friday to approve the 2003-04 Legislative Budget Digest. It is the earliest approval date for the Digest in ten years.
Generally the Digest has not been completed until June.
It is likely there will be an electronic version of the Digest available on the Legislature's Internet Web site by Friday afternoon. It is usually a 250 page document.
Because of the state's budget crunch, the 2003-04 digest is expected to be smaller than the the past two years. Those Digests sent between $35 million and $37 million in funding to various home district projects, fairs and festivals.
Digest requests this year are reported to be about $100 million.
The Herald will begin to look through the Digest Friday, for a report. |
