Volunteers come to help from NC

Members of "Builders for Christ" came to Big Bend yesterday to work on the erection
of a new parsonage for the Brooksville Baptist Church. It was a day to complete the
foundation. Thirteen volunteers from North Carolina went straight to the task early in
the morning, assisted by local members of the church.
By 2:30 yesterday afternoon - phase one was done. The group will return in June to
frame the 1300 square foot house, located across the road from the Big Bend
Cemetery on land donated by the Cain family.
The group actually has 250 members who support the ministry, according to Bill
Donaldson of Burlington NC, who said "I'm sorta the foreman." Donaldson said this
was the 10th parsonage the group has built, often supplying much of the building
materials from companies in their area.
"We use this house building as an excuse to spread the message of the Lord Jesus
Christ," he said. "We have a wonderful group of people."

Many of the workers stayed at the new recreational and activities building behind
the church. Certainly, one of their biggest treats was food prepared by the
"Brooksville Women."
The tables were moved outside yesterday for lunch, and quite a spread it was. Lo
and behold - there was no rain.
