Joint funeral services will be held at Stump Funeral Home in Arnoldsburg, West Virginia at 2 p.m. Wednesday for Mary Louise Hicks, 60, and Warden Groves, 69, of Sand Ridge, WV. They were murdered May 15, 2002 inside the Groves house.
Warden Groves was the son of the late William and Leva Suttles Groves.
He is survived by brothers, Robert Groves of Grantsville, WV and Thomas Groves of Akron, Ohio.
Interment will be in the Summers Cemetery at Orma, WV. Visitation one hour prior to services.
Mary Louise Hicks was born at Newton, Roane County, WV, daughter of the late Earl and Rosie Falls Hicks of Arnoldsburg. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by daughters, Rosa Settle of Orma, Rita Harris of North Carolina, Anna Smith of Grantsville; son, Paul King of Millstone; seven grandchildren, Sabrina and Brittany King of Millstone, Indy Anna Settle of Orma, Joey Justice of Grantsville, Sinda lou, Sheila and Heather of NC; great grandchildren, Hailey Jean Wilson and Alexis Breanne Wilson.
Also surviving are brothers, Jim Hicks of Mt. Zion, WV and Dayton Hicks of Orma; sister, Leota Linehan.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, a brother and a grandson, David Carl Harris.
Burial will be in the Orma UM Church Cemetery.
Rev. Rick Metheney will officiate both services.
